A Calm First Week at Home

Start with a quiet room containing familiar food, fresh water, bedding, a scratching post, toys, and an easy-to-reach litter tray. Secure windows and put away loose cords, small objects, and plants that may be unsafe for cats. Show your kitten the tray and keep meals and rest predictable.

Play, Grooming & Introductions

Offer short, gentle play sessions and places to climb, hide, and scratch. Use toys rather than hands for play. Brush the short coat gently and ask your veterinarian about nail and dental care. Let children sit quietly with the kitten, supervise handling, and introduce other pets gradually with separate resting and feeding spaces.

Your First-Week Checklist

Before pickup, have a secure carrier and your kitten's supplies ready. Confirm the feeding and litter routine, keep veterinary records together, and arrange the examination required within 72 hours by our written health guarantee. Watch appetite, activity, and litter habits as your kitten settles in.

When to Contact a Veterinarian

Contact your veterinarian promptly if your kitten is not eating, seems unusually quiet, has diarrhea, or shows a sudden change in behavior. Breathing difficulty, collapse, or repeated vomiting needs urgent veterinary attention. Breeder support is available, but it does not replace veterinary care.

For more detail, read our complete homecoming guide or ask us about your kitten's current routine before pickup.
