How adopting from Archangel Silver actually works, step by step
Adopting a kitten shouldn't feel like a black box. Here's exactly how the process works from your first email to the day your kitten comes home — usually six to ten weeks from start to finish.
Start on the available kittens page. Each listing has current photos, gender, and a short note on personality. Both parents (Luna and Maxim) are listed on the queens and studs page if you want to see who they came from.
If nothing on the page feels right or you have a specific preference (male vs. female, calmer vs. more playful), just tell us and we'll let you know when the next litter is on the way.
Send us a message through the contact form, email, or text — whatever's easier. Tell us which kitten you're interested in, a bit about your household (other pets, kids, indoor/outdoor), and any questions you have.
We usually reply the same day. If we think a different kitten in the litter would be a better fit, we'll say so — better to figure that out now than after pickup.
Once we've talked and agreed on a kitten, a deposit holds them for you:
$400
Reserves the kitten you've picked. Applied to the final price.
$200
If no current kitten fits, this puts you near the front of the line for the next litter.
We accept Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and bank transfer. You'll get a written contract that lays out our 2-year health guarantee, the remaining balance, and pickup terms before any money changes hands. Please contact us for the current price of the kitten you're interested in.
Kittens go home at 12 weeks, so there's usually a wait of four to eight weeks after reservation. During that time we send photos and short videos every week or two — eyes opening, first wobbly steps, first time on a scratching post.
If you have questions about setting up the house, food brands, or how to introduce the kitten to an existing pet, ask any time. Our kitten care guide covers the basics.
Every kitten goes to our vet in the week before going home. That visit covers:
You'll go home with the actual paperwork — vet records, vaccine schedule, microchip info, and a copy of the 2-year health guarantee.
In Austin or nearby: Pickup at our home is preferred. We'll spend 20–30 minutes going over feeding, the litter box your kitten is used to, and answering anything you still want to ask.
Out of driving range: We can help arrange a flight nanny or licensed pet transport. Details and current costs are on the shipping page. Common options:
You can call or text us with questions for as long as you have the cat — that's just part of buying a kitten from a small breeder. Most questions come up in the first month: food transitions, scratching, introducing a second pet. We answer all of them.
If something serious comes up, the 2-year health guarantee is in writing and we honor it.
