Archangel Silver is a home-based Russian Blue cattery in Austin, Texas. Our kittens are born and raised in our living room rather than a kennel, so by the time they are ready to go home they are used to people, household noise, and being handled every day.
We only have a couple of litters a year, which keeps things calm for the queens and means we can spend real time with every kitten. Each one leaves us at 12–14 weeks with a written 2-year health guarantee, current vaccinations, a vet check, a microchip, and pedigree paperwork. Pickup in Austin is the most common option; for families further away we can help arrange a flight nanny or licensed pet transport.
A few things that set our Austin cattery apart from larger commercial operations.
Our kittens come from two titled Champions, Luna and Maxim. Both are screened before being bred and chosen for health, temperament, and a true Russian Blue look — plush double coat, green eyes, and a lean, elegant build. You can meet our breeding cats or read more about the Russian Blue breed.
Both of our breeding cats are screened for HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and PKD before they're bred. Every kitten gets a full vet exam, age-appropriate FVRCP vaccinations, deworming, and a FeLV/FIV test before going home. Each one leaves with a written 2-year genetic health guarantee.
Russian Blues produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein — the main allergen in cat saliva and dander — than most breeds. That doesn't make them allergen-free, but plenty of our families came to us after struggling with other cats and have done fine with a Russian Blue. If your allergies are severe, we recommend spending time around the breed first. More on what to expect on our breed information page.
Our litters grow up in our living room rather than a separate kennel area. They get handled every day, hear normal household noise, and spend time around our adult cats before they leave at 12–14 weeks. By the time you bring one home, your kitten is used to people and confident in a busy house.

Comprehensive guide for raising your Russian Blue kitten
We're based in Austin, Texas. Most kittens go home with families who pick them up here in person. For families outside of driving distance, we can help arrange a flight nanny or a licensed pet transport service.
The most common method for long-distance transport. Your kitten flies in a climate-controlled, pressurized cargo hold in an airline-approved carrier. Flight time typically 2-6 hours. You pick up your kitten at the cargo facility at your nearest major airport.
A professional pet courier hand-carries your kitten in the cabin and either delivers them to your door or meets you at the airport. This is what most of our out-of-state families choose, particularly those in California, Florida, and New York.
For nearby states (Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico), we partner with licensed pet transport services. Transit time 1-2 days with regular updates.
You're always welcome to visit our cattery in Austin, Texas, meet the parents, and take your kitten home personally. Many families make a weekend trip out of it—Austin is a wonderful city with great food, music, and attractions!
Cost depends on the route and the option you choose. Send us your city and state and we'll come back with a quote and a realistic timeline.

Yes! Russian Blues produce significantly less Fel d 1 protein (the primary allergen) compared to other breeds. Many people with cat allergies can live comfortably with Russian Blues. However, no cat is 100% hypoallergenic, so we recommend spending time with the breed first if you have severe allergies.
Most families pick their kitten up here in Austin. If you're further away, we can help you arrange a flight nanny or a licensed pet transport service. Each kitten travels with a vet-issued health certificate dated within 48 hours of the trip. See our shipping page for the options we use.
Kittens go home between 12 and 14 weeks. The extra weeks let them finish their vaccination series and pick up the social skills they only learn from mom and their littermates. They settle into a new home much better at that age than at 8 weeks.
Every kitten goes home with a written 2-year genetic health guarantee covering hereditary conditions and congenital heart defects. Each one is vet-examined, vaccinated, and microchipped before pickup, and we're happy to answer questions for the life of your cat. Full terms are on our Health Guarantee page.
